Just thought I'd give you an insight to the type of music that dominates my world – Smooth Jazz. My favourite artist is Bob James though I have several close ranking semi-favourites too.
Anyway, have a listen and let me know what you think.

Bike of the Month
I had to venture out today and couldn't but notice the ant-like behaviour of people scurrying everywhere in the attempt to make a killing at the shop sales. Even some shops newly opened had large "Sale Now On" posters in their shop window which makes one wonder why…
Ever notice how the same films, programmes etc appear on TV every Xmas? It seems to be tradition now but exactly how many times can one stomach "Frosty the Snowman" or "A Christmas Carol"? Don't misunderstand me, I don't intend to be a Scrooge, but new programmes to help digest the turkey not help regurgitate it, wouldn't go amiss.
The sharp ones amongst you will notice the “Bike of the Month” section on the right. Being a bike-nut, I thought over the next few months I'd feature some of the bikes I love and have come across in my journeys. I hope to show more of them as time goes on, perhaps changing the feature to a weekly one.

They think it's all over…
Xmas at my sister's was nice. All the in-laws were there and it was great to see everyone after such a long time. There was lots to eat and drink however I stuck to water all night. I had a few glasses of red earlier in the day which was winning the battle of wills.
Well, it's not all over yet. The helter-skelter is still evident with everyone rushing about trying to grab a bargain in the sales. The need to max the credit card is stronger than ever. Let's hope the new year brings better fortune to us all.

Xmas Eve
Xmas Eve, and it's all a mad house again! Everyone rushing around like the world ends tomorrow. You have to give it to the marketing guys though, they've got us all sucked into their will and they're all wishing us a Happy Xmas as they dance their way to the bank.
The girls are not too bothered about decorations this year – sound good to me since I'm not too hot on putting them up and taking them down all by myself either.
Okay, work boots are hung up for the year, well for the next couple of days since I still have to go in to tidy up and back up in preparation for the new year. But the rest off work is welcome all the same. The fog's cleared at last and I managed to get the bike out for a spin round the block. Got a bit of fresh bit too while I'm at it.

Welcome home
Tayo returned from her trip to Ghana and Lagos today. She's been gone for nearly 3 weeks and the girls and I missed her terribly. We were on our last tinned baked beans on toast. Anyway, though she planned to take the train home from the airport, Cynthia and I went to the airport to meet her as a surprise her. You should've see her face when she saw us. Brilliant!!
Tayo really enjoyed her stay in Sekondi, Ghana which, according to her, was a sharp contrast from Lagos. Sekondi is more laid back, peaceful and relatively safe when compared to the hustle and bustle of Lagos where one is constantly looking over one's shoulders. Well, Sekondi is now chalked up on my list of places to visit before I die.

Here goes…
That's it, I finally took the plunge. My first blog. So… what's it all about? Well, I suppose it gives me the opportunity to get on my own personal soapbox showcasing everything… I guess.
We've had freezing fog for the past 2 days now and forecast says it's going to get worse right up to the end of the week – and it's only Wednesday. Bleak chance of playing any golf this weekend or riding my bike (Harley-Davidson Road King Custom 04).
Talking of riding, I had a whale of a time last June riding from London to Killarney in Republic of Ireland with a couple of my close buddies, Tola and Essay, which raised £4,000 for charity. We had a great time exploring the country on our second road trip together. The first was done a couple of years ago from London to Amsterdam in The Netherlands. The riding season's over now but I still like to take the bike out every now and again just to keep it ticking over.
